Gum Card Era

Gum Card Era refers to the period from the 1930s through the 1970s when trading cards were primarily distributed as bonus inserts in packages of chewing gum or bubble gum. This packaging method created one of the most common and distinctive conservation challenges in the hobby: gum staining and wax residue bonded to card surfaces.
