Centering Guide

Card centering refers to how well the printed image is positioned within the card's borders. It is one of the four primary attributes evaluated by every major grading company, alongside corners, edges, and surface. Centering is unique among grading criteria because it is entirely a factory issue -- collectors cannot improve or worsen it after production. A card's centering is set the moment it is cut from the print sheet, making it a critical factor to evaluate before purchasing or submitting cards for grading.
